To Amsterdam… Not Once But Twice A Day

03.11.2004 Today sees the start of the double daily Thomsonfly.com service to Amsterdam. The new Amsterdam morning service means that it is is now possible to visit the Dutch capital for the day from Coventry.

Thomsonfly.com started the evening Amsterdam service on 28 September as part of its winter flying programme.  The route links Coventry with one of the world’s largest hubs, Amsterdam Schiphol – with over 70 airlines, therefore providing connections to destinations the world over.

In the most recent Mintel report Amsterdam was the third most visited city in Europe with over 5 million overseas visitors in 2002.  The new route will prove popular with both business and leisure travellers and is likely to increase the percentage of Thomsonfly.com passengers travelling on business.

Chief Commercial Officer of Thomsonfly.com, Alex Hunter, said, “Through the summer we ran double daily flights to Jersey, that proved extremely popular with tourists and business travellers alike. Amsterdam is a fantastic city which is a great place for an exciting day out, a short trip and is also a major European business centre. Christmas will be upon us before we know it and Amsterdam provides great opportunities to find more unusual gifts for friends and family.”

The morning flight leaves Coventry Airport at 06:35 (and arrives Amsterdam at 08:40) and the evening flight leaves for Amsterdam at 19:20.

Thomsonfly.com’s winter destinations are Jersey, Cork, Shannon, Alicante, Palms, Pisa, Naples, Amsterdam, Salzburg, Lyon, Cologne/ Bonn, Venice, Malaga and Valencia.
