19.01.2005 The Wessex Autistic Society's Domino Appeal is celebrating a generous donation from new Bournemouth airline Thomsonfly.com. The airline chose to support the appeal due to the proximity of Portfield School to the Airport and has donated £1 for every booking made on Wednesday 8th December to The Domino Appeal for Portfield School as one of a number of fundraising activities over the coming months. Over 1000 flights were booked on the day generating a donation of £1083 to The Domino Appeal.
Debbie Anderson, the Society's Corporate and Trusts Fundraiser said; 'Thank you to Thomsonfly.com, this is a huge boost to the appeal and will undoubtedly help us in securing further funding from other sources as well as increasing the Appeal's awareness through the link provided on the airline's website. Thank you also to Bournemouth Airport who nominated us as the beneficiary charity to Thomsonfly.com and who continue to support our work."
Thomsonfly.com announced its route lists from Bournemouth Airport to 7 European destinations including France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Holland. The airline offers low fare flights and will start flights from Bournemouth Airport on 22nd March 2005.

The Domino Appeal is The Wessex Autistic Society's community fundraising campaign to complete the building of the new Portfield School at Parley lane, West Parley, Christchurch. The first phase of the development, the main school building and a boarding bungalow was completed in October 2002 and opened by HRH The Princess Royal in November of that year. A second boarding bungalow was completed in October 2003 and is now in use, building is currently underway of the final two boarding houses and the short breaks bungalow. The final phase of the development will be the construction of a therapy pool.
