06.12.2004 Thomsonfly.com has today confirmed its much anticipated route list for flights from Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield.
Thomsonfly.com went on sale at 11:30 today (Monday 6 December) with flights to beach, city and leisure destinations in 7 countries costing as little as £15.99 per person for a one way fare.
28 April will see the first Thomsonfly.com flights take off from Robin Hood Airport. These will be the first commercial passenger flights to operate from the brand new airport. Thomsonfly will offer flights to Palma, Pisa, Ibiza, Malaga, Jersey, Faro, Prague, Alicante, Valencia, Dublin and Paris on three Boeing 737-300 aircraft (148 seats).
Alex Hunter, chief commercial officer of Thomsonfly.com, said, "We have been busy working with Robin Hood Airport and airports throughout Europe to offer an exciting, inspiring and varied flight programme. We are delighted that we can bring such a great range of destinations to the people of the region enabling them to travel for low fares from their local airport."
Thomsonfly.com offers low fare flights with the benefit of having seats allocated at check-in avoiding the rush for seats that is often associated with low cost airlines. Customers can pre-book their seats and have the option to book extra legroom seats or add elements to their flight including accommodation, transfers and car hire.
Thomsonfly.com will donate £1 per booking to Help A Hallam Child for every booking made today (Monday 6 December) as one of a number of fundraising activities over the coming months.
The routes announced today complement the holiday flights that Thomson Holidays will operate on an additional Boeing 737-800 (with 189 seats) aircraft which will serve 15 resort areas -Palma, Ibiza, Mahon, Gerona, Alicante, Malaga, Faro, Las Palmas, Tenerife, Naples, Malta, Corfu, Rhodes, Paphos and Venice. The holiday flights have been selling well since they were put on sale in April this year.
Thomsonfly.com has carried 500,000 passenger sectors since it started flying from Coventry on March 31 this year. In 2005 the airline will operate three bases, Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield, Coventry and Bournemouth.
The Thomsonfly.com flight service from Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield will create over 100 jobs which are currently being recruited in conjunction with Directions Finningley.
