Thomsonfly puts Summer 2006 flights on sale

21.10.2005 The low fares airline from the UK's leading travel company has put more low fares flights on sale for Summer 2006.

High frequency flights from the low fares airlines bases at Coventry, Doncaster and Bournemouth go on sale today with fares starting from £22.99. Customers can now book flights to Barcelona, Faro, Valencia and Prague.

Maria Heckel, marketing director for Thomsonfly.com, said, "Since the first phase of flights went on sale for next summer we have had many requests from passengers eager to book the other destinations and to find out where we would be flying to next summer. Being able to book now for a trip next summer makes the winter months more bearable - the trip becomes the light at the end of the tunnel".

"Many passengers are keen to book their flights for the period of the football world cup, in June next year, because they want to be able to take the time off so they can watch the football and the holiday resorts are ideal places to do this as so many of the bars screen the tournament on big screens."

In September Thomsonfly announced that it would be offering nationwide low fares flights to Spain for next summer. These flights from Manchester, Newcastle, Luton, Gatwick Cardiff, Nottingham East Midlands and Birmingham have been extremely popular since they went on sale. The seats on sale today are the next phase of the Summer 2006 flights going on sale, and the third and final phase including exciting new routes, will be towards the end of the year. Thomsonfly predicts that it will have carried 1.5 million passengers in 2005 by the end of the year, which will grow to 2 million in 2006.

Thomsonfly.com has been operating low fares flights for almost 18 months and has been extremely successful. The low fares flights started operating on four aircraft this year and more than doubled its fleet size to 9 aircraft this year with five new aircraft joining the fleet in time for the summer months.
